Local nature recovery and natural capital feature in the Hull and East Yorkshire Devolution Deal, highlighting the need for investment in our environmental assets to support essential ecosystem services. Part of the deal includes inviting the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority to join the natural capital investment community of practice, sharing information, best practice and networking opportunities.

ERYC Declaration of Ecological Emergency

East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) has declared an ecological emergency, highlighting the urgent need to protect and restore nature across the region. With biodiversity in sharp decline nationally, the council is prioritising actions to conserve habitats, support wildlife, and fulfil strengthened biodiversity responsibilities under the Environment Act 2021.
